Hi, I’m Sam
I understand how difficult it can be to recognize wins in your parenting life. I believe this stems from the endless decisions and responsibilities in a parent’s life. The overload of parenting methodologies online and all manner of advice can make things overwhelming. In addition, the sometimes conflicting opinions you have with your partner, family members, and friends can be particularly impactful. This could all lead to doubt and confusion in making decisions that are best for yourself, your children, and the family.
Parenting has a tender place in my heart since I suffered dearly as a child and the early parts of parenting. I understand intimately from personal experience how important and how difficult it is being a “good parent”. I also recognize what an enormous responsibility parents have in shaping our future.
Because of this importance I fully committed to helping people become better parents – it is my life’s purpose. I have the privilege of working with many people around the globe and the positive changes in their parenting skills are extraordinary. And I am in constant amazement of how creative and effective parents are when there is clarity and commitment around what needs to be done and how to do it. I have a deep passion and determination in equipping parents with the tools and skills they need to be proud of their decisions and actions and start winning in their parenting life.
Life Journey
Let me share key parts of my life journey that led me to where I am today. When I was only four years old, my mother and I embarked on a dangerous journey as refugees from Vietnam to Canada. Known as “Boat People” we survived seven days and nights with little food and water. We learned the art of survival along the journey to freedom. This experience had significant long lasting emotional trauma on both my mother and me. The next few chapters of my life consisted of fierce struggles. Childhood trauma. Emotional & physical abuse. Teenage pregnancy. The loss of a child. Gambling addiction. Over two decades as a single mother. Weeks of depressive episodes. These were among the major challenges of my journey.
“We are the product of our choices” - Sam
I wanted to give up many times. Yet I chose to summon my inner warrior because of my daughter. She was the ONLY reason I found the will to turn around the life I hated. I knew I needed to become a better parent for her. Now I love life and while it still has challenges it also has beauty, purpose and contentment. Turning it around was not easy but it was worth it. I am so grateful to live a life with much inner peace, joy and gratitude. I crushed and bulldozed some major fears to become whole again. Gates of opportunities swung open. Such as having the privilege of working with clients from over 30 countries and accumulating over 3000 hours of coaching. I turned the suffering, pain, and regrets I endured into an unyielding PASSION to help parents avoid similar experiences. It is my mission to combine my professional skills and colorful life experiences to help parents create happy and peaceful parenting lifestyles.
In my personal journey, I have had a substantial transformation over the last 20 years. Some attributes to describe Sam 1.0 are codependency, complainer, negative thinker, self-pity, depression and victim mindset. I have been able to move from a defeatist mindset to an empowered person by leaning on God, educating myself and continuously setting a high standard for my character. Now I can confidently describe myself with attributes like inner strength, decisive, motivated, thriving, positive thinker, perseverance, solution-oriented, and integrity. I am grounded in the values of loving God, healthy lifestyle, and continuous inner growth.
Life is a journey, not a destination - I am a student for life, pursuing continuous growth in every corner of my human experience. Still learning to embrace my imperfections. Still learning to love people unconditionally. Still learning to give myself grace as a person and a parent.

FAQ
Is Sam considered a parenting expert?
No way! If someone claims they are a parenting expert, I would run the other way. Claiming to be an expert could imply I know your children better than you do and I am a perfect parent. Which is far from the truth and misleading.
Parenting is not a technical skill like accounting and engineering where it is black and white. Parenting is an art and that means I have an artful way of accumulating wins in the parenting arena. These wins lead to results that stick, and are both sustainable and long-lasting.
